This Cape Cod style cottage project started with the demolition of the existing cottage on this granite landscape in Ontario's lake country. The interior details were fully customized in collaboration with the home owner. Highlights included custom timber A-frames designed in New York and hoisted into place. The interior, including the ceiling, was completely clad in wood of different combinations – in the bedrooms 1x8 channel siding was installed vertically, while other areas used it horizontally. In the master bedroom, clear pine board & batten was used, and the powder rooms have a combination of bead board and tongue and groove panelling. The floors were finished with truly beautiful white oak. Additional customized use of fine materials: exterior wood soffits and fascia; uniquely designed millwork for the kitchen, laundry room, entertainment room and bathrooms.
